Ever since Gucci appointed Alessandro Michele as their new creative director 22 months ago, the brand has known a tremendous turnaround.
Creative, might be the exact word to describe Michele; season after season he manages to take us even deeper into his perception of Gucci’s world and ultimately made it the brand’s new narrative.
The Pre Fall 17 collection was shot in Rome in two historical shops, the Antica Libreria Cascianelli an old bookstore specializing in heraldry and art history, and the Antica Spezieria di Santa Maria della Scala a 16th-century apothecary that catered to popes. This collection is a continuation to the never-ending story between past and present beautifully put together as it illustrates the two worlds perfectly. This Pre Fall 17 collection is at the same time trendy (the silk PJ look and added fanny packs) but also a representation of the bon ton Gucci woman, who quite frankly can’t get over her love for the 70’s.
