You might have noticed this or not, but award season this year was missing the glitz and glam of the red carpet… until the Emmy’s showed up- and thank god it did! Even to us at Shoes & Drama- who do criticism at it’s best- were getting BORED, but we guess celebs noticed and started upping their game- or got better stylists. Skipping the worst and diving into the best, because seriously ladies, A+ ratings were anything but a shortage, surprisingly!
Never to disappoint on the red carpet- and it’s not because of her #armcandy Justin, but she keeps bringing sexy back! We’re loving Jessica’s Ralph & Russo gown for three reasons; 1. color combo, 2. the right amount of skin, 3. she’s wearing it. And let’s not forget the hair & makeup! #effortless
Millie Bobby Brown
If this kid doesn’t getting the Fashion Icon Of The Decade award in the future, we’re leaving the fashion industry. With teenagers dressing like 20 something girls – or strippers, Brown definitely knows how to ‘dress to impress’- HER AGE! We’re loving her in this white strapless ballerina number by Calvin Klein. More of Mille please!
With power suits being all over the runway this season – and should be all over your closets by now btw, Reese Witherspoon kicked everyone’s ass- including yours- in this sharp more feminine idea of the street style staple! This is exactly how an Emmy presenter should dress- and probably she already knew Big Little Lies would win five emmys, so why not dress like a winner?
Is Calvin Klein the new Zuhair Murad of the Emmys? Its not that easy to be on the best dressed list twice! – ask us, we know better.. After hitting the note with Millie, the American fashion brand did it again with Nicole Kidman in this striking beautiful plunging neckline red gown- giving us a little bit if Moulin Rouge attitude 16 years later? It worked and we LOVE it! We can finally forgive you for that green peacock Gucci dress you wore to the SAG awards..
Anything but a devil, Yara Shahidi stuns again in Prada! The Blackish star looked absolutely gorgeous in blush and green sequined veins. More power to you girl!
Goddess in orange? Voila.. Viola! This is what you dress up for when you successfully manage to hide a dead corpse in a forest and get away with it. Color on trend! Makeup and hair on point, we’d be fools to not grace our list with this woman right here!
Hot in Dior Haute Couture! What more can we say about this beauty? Kravitz gave us a literal fashion fairytale fantasy moment, as she described the vibe her dress was giving her. Finishing up the look with just about the right amount of jewelry Tiffany’s of course. Back to the dress.. unexpected color palette? Yes, but we do love a good surprise!
Tracee Ellis Ross
We can obviously tell where Tracee got her glam from – thank you Diana for passing it on.. Stunning in Chanel Haute Couture gave us a major throwback to Diana’s performances back in the 60s; feather, glitter, and sequins? YES!
Given her name, it would be a total embarrassment to not kill a red carpet named after her. With old hollywood glam of a strapless black Zac Posen and jaw dropping Lorraine Schwartz emeralds, you just can’t go wrong with this look. Bravo, you passed babe!
The Indian beauty slayed in a Balmain gown- no ropes anymore thank god! We loved the dress and the color on her complexion. Lower feather like Chanel’s? We’d like to say Tracee did it better.
