The award season is finally upon us and it kicked off with non other than the 74th Golden Globes Awards ceremony. 2016 was a good year for film, from Deadpool to Fences we have a clear idea of which film will get the most nominations and awards. It was an interesting year also for television as A-List celebrities are now mostly attracted by being on our living room more often than ever.
However what we mostly care about is the red carpet looks of our favorite celebrities and boy were we disappointed. We saw more bad outfits than good ones and Zuhair Murad stole the show and that’s not necessarily a good thing!
Our Top 10 Best Looks
1- Blake Lively
Queen B may have come just to support her husband but all eyes were on her! That velvet gown may be Donatella’s best work yet.
2- Evan Rachel Wood
Wood used the red carpet to give a message to young girls… “Dresses aren’t a requirement, you don’t have to wear one if you don’t want to. Just be yourself”. We couldn’t agree more and she looked just as good in her custom tux if not better than some.
3- Caitriona Balfe
Like a delicate flower, Caitriona looked elegant in poised in her Delpozo Pre-Fall 2017 gown.
4- Gwendoline Christie
The Game of Thrones star looked like a Greek goddess on the red carpet, we can’t even tell she plays a King slayer on television.
5- Louise Roe
She may not be an A-lister but the English blogger is in our Top 5 because she looked just flawless.
6- Elsa Pataky
Thank Goodness Zuhair Murad made this dress and Elsa decided to wear it! If it wasn’t for this one we would have seriously guessed the designers ability to make a good looking gown.
7- Jessica Biel
Not your typical Elie Saab dress but still beautiful with cuts in the right places. The dressed fit like a glove and that plunging neckline is everything!
8- Emma Stone
Some may not like her, but that Valentino dress made her look like a star. Her make up and hair was done to perfection and that’s exactly what we like to see; a good look from head to toe.
9- Kristen Wiig
Minimalist but expensive looking, that all lace dress is one of our favorites… and yes we might be completely bias on this one, it’s Reem Acra after all.
10- Naomie Harris
Heart shaped cups are typical but there’s nothing basic about that look! Hollywood glam at its finest and its all thanks to Mr. Armani.
Top 10 Worst Looks
1- Sarah Jessica Parker
Sigh…Is Sarah on a mission to look like a witch, we can’t help but wonder. She should seriously consider hiring a new stylist.
2- Zoe Saldana
We love Gucci and we love Zoe but those two combined just didn’t work for us this time. Maybe it’s the bow? Or just the color combination or maybe to much ruffles? You see where we’re going with this…too many ideas in one dress.
4- Janelle Monae
The singer and now star actress from Hidden Figures stayed true to her black and white signature but this dress is a fail. Not rightly proportionate and is that a net on her hair? We love the shoes though.
5- Sofia Vergara
The internet made fun of her accent which is completely wrong but we at SD have the right to criticize her dress! She looked like she was dripped in gold and we don’t mean that in a good way.
6- Lily Collins
We understand this actress wanted to have a pure Cinderella moment but the fabric of this dress just looks cheap and we can’t look pass it.
7- Sarah Pulson
Not only did Sarah had a very awkward kiss on the red carpet (at least it looked like it) that dress looks terribly uncomfortable. Maybe it’s the poor fit or just that fabric..berk.
8- Nicole Kidman
Is it a bird or is it a tsunami on a dress? We’re confused please help us understand. We miss the true Alexander McQueen drama.
9- Drew Barrymore
We don’t want to be mean but it looks like all the years of partying finally caught up with Drew. She looks like she has no idea where she is just hang over and that dress from a party she attended two years ago.
10- Sophie Turner
Millennials and Louis Vuitton should be a no no. At least any dress from that collection, it didn’t look right on the runway surely doesn’t look red carpet appropriate. Just consider that Nicolas.
