NYFW Recap: Day 1

Day one, DONE! New York Fashion Week began yesterday (but we hope you already knew that) and we’ve been glued to our screens while S&D Founder, Marriam Mossalli butt has been glued to front row seats sifting through looks, looking for any could-be major trends this season. We’re on the lookout for this season’s must have buys, along with red carpet predictions.

Tadashi Shoji 9k= Shoji’s spring-summer 2016 collection blossomed on the runway. Filled with Japanese-inspired flora, shades of electric violet skirts and gowns laced with organza and tulle. Overall his collection was structured, covetable, and clean.

Marissa Webb 9k=-1 NYFW underdog, Marissa Webb played with gender, showcasing masculine military greens with feminine fringing and cuts, gallant pantsuits in ladylike pink, and country-style plaid baring midriffs.

Desigual 2Q== Ibiza meshed with New York and produced funky-fresh vibes on the Desigual runway. Acid laced florals, naughty rompers and jumpers, and feel-good denim left us placing pre-orders for next Coachella.

Creatures of the Wind rs_1024x759-150910134709-1024-creatures-of-the-wind-nyfw-091015Loads of luxe leather, hints of skin mixed with monochrome tint and a pleasant shade of orange (we didn’t think it was possible either) set the tone for Creatures latest collection. And did they make fishnets sexy again?

Erin Fetherston rs_1024x759-150910134456-1024-erin-fetherston-nyfw-091015Airy gowns, sheer florals, stunning summer dresses (Check out the white one, shame it’s after Labor Day) and youthful light knits flew down the runway yesterday. Honestly we’re not sure about this one though, there’s something that screams Little House On The Prairie, and it’s making us uncomfortable.
