Skin is the body’s largest organ and it needs an array of ingredients to protect and repair itself from environmental assaults, lifestyle and the effects of aging.
Recently, coconut oil has demonstrated enormous value for cosmetic or dermatological purposes.
I was recently in Riyadh- Saudi Arabia and I couldn’t believe the loss of moisture I felt through my skin. Chapped lips, dry elbows, cracks around mouth and chin; I felt like a fragile autumn leaf.
If you are anything like me and much prefer natures simple alternative, you would appreciate the benefits I gained from Coconut Oil.
Coconut oil restored the moisture to my skin. and reduce the appearance of fine lines and cracks when used regularly every night. Aside from the benefits of the nutrients contained, coconut oil doesn’t contain questionable chemicals, petrochemicals, preservatives, and other man-made chemicals which is important to me when choosing what to put on or in my body.
Coconut oil helps minimize wrinkles by promoting collagen production and replacement. Collagen is the fibrous protein that connects tissue. Coconut oil has been clinically tested to help treat atopic dermatitis, a type of eczema that manifests itself as an itchy skin rash that can be reoccurring.
Skin wounds heal faster when coconut oil is applied on and near the wound as it helps create new blood vessels in and around the affected area.
Nutritional benefits of virgin coconut oil absorbed into the bloodstream are bountiful. Triglycerides are easily digested and metabolizing them produces ketones in the brain that have been found to prevent and/or reverse Alzheimer’s.
Since coconut oil is so mild, it can be applied to delicate areas
You must also know that there never is one magical ingredient that would offer everything the skin needs to significantly improve. One needs to work from the inside out to reap the benefits of healthy glowing skin. Think of it like this: To reward yourself of glowing skin, you required to maintain a good healthy diet. An example; Vegetables are nutritional powerhouses, but if you eat only vegetables, you soon will be malnourished because veggies alone don’t provide everything the body needs to maintain itself and stay healthy. Skin is the same.

Here is something you can make at home. Using the coconut oil on it’s own will naturally clear away dead skin but if combined with other natural exfoliation agents such as 1 cup of either grains, sugar, salts to 1/2 cup of coconut oil makes for an incredible body and/or facial scrub. If you want to be more creative, add small amount of cacao powder or ground coffee for a more nutritive substance and color.
