Match Your Nails to Your Heels with the New Limited-Edition Louboutin Collection

Enter the land of the exotic and escape to Egypt with the new Christian LouboutinScarabée’ collection. Inspired by his love of the mythical country, Louboutin wanted to create a collection that captured the culture and essence of Egypt by bringing beauty and fashion together.

Louboutin, who owns a house in Luxor and an Egyptian sailboat on the Nile, has been hugely influenced by the country’s nature and ancient mythology. He found a new muse in one of the biggest pieces of Egyptian iconography – the scarab beetle. But the scarab is no ordinary beetle, as the insect was the symbol of the sun god in Ancient Egypt and was very sacred to the Pharaohs.

Inspired by the iridescent colors of the beetle’s back, the three new luxuriously rich and metallic shades of nail lacquer are the perfect holiday hues (they look sizzling against sun-kissed skin) to take you from the pool to the party. In the words of Louboutin himself, “They can look beautiful and reflective under the bright sun, but also like a precious jewel by night.” ‘Scarabée I’ is like a summer sunset, a beautiful, soft, metallic golden pink, ‘Scarabée II’ is a deep-sea blue with shimmers of purple, gold, and emerald, and ‘Scarabée III’ is a burnished bronze with flashes of green and blue. The bottles themselves have also been beautified – beetle style – with copper caps and a scarab motif cutout on the pretty packaging. They’re limited-edition though, so make sure you get your hands (and feet) on them ASAP.

The launch also includes two new shoes, which allows you to literally match your nails to your heels – what better reason do you need to snap up some stilettos this summer? Directly inspired by the blue-green shade of ‘Scarabée II’, Louboutin has developed a new patent leather, ‘Scarabée Océan Amazone’ a stunning, shiny blue-green patent that complements your pedi. Perfect.
