nawá, the Social Fashion Label, Introduces the New Jean Clutch for Eid 2012

A minimalistic approach, a geometric shape, a retro-vintage feel:

it’s the story of a bag, of unusual volume and of colors

The new Jean clutch from nawá is a re-collection of one of the most famous beauties of the 1960’s: Jean Shrimpton was one of the original ’60s supermodels and the most famous faces of London’s cool.

The clutch is refined and carefree, epitomized by the fashion icon’s avant-garde looks. It gives the free-spirited a fresh and trendy spin.

The fun mixture and contrast between the smooth surface of the nappa leather and the textured sweet water snake leather will make you want to own each of the many colors the clutch comes in. The colors radiate with high shine and intensity in ten different shades: Night Blue, Night Black,  Chocolate Brown, Cherry Red, Canary Yellow, Bois de Rose, Peacock Green, Rain Blue, Peach, Pastel Mint

The new nawá clutch is a story of a personality, a fashion icon of the swinging London and her contribution to the world of fashion. It is also the story of fine craftsmanship, stylistic creation and artistic vision: hand stitching, handmade gold plated fermoir and thought after detailing, add to the value of the little piece of art.

Like all nawá clutches, the net profits from the sales of these bags go back to different social initiatives. Nawá is also a proud partner of the World Food Program.

The new collection will be available at various boutiques and online stores.

The Jean clutch retails at AED 1,100.00

About nawá:

nawá was launched in the summer of 2011 with the objective of creating permanent improvements in the lives of less fortunate communities around the world.
The idea behind the social label is to design, manufacture, and sell high-end luxury fashion products and accessories inspired by the culture and spirit of these communities. Profits from the sale of these products would go towards building capabilities and developing the skills of those living in the communities, enabling them to generate income and improving their lives.
nawá continuously creates new designs that reflect the latest trends and are colored by the world’s multitude of beautiful cultures.
All pieces are handcrafted by small groups of artisans that apply techniques passed from generation to generation, to give the highest quality fashion items, preserving the heritage. The finished products are small beautiful pieces of art. They are a combination of hand made, hand embroidered, hand crochet pieces mixed with top quality craftsmanship.
nawá is also an official partner of the United Nations’ World Food Program.

About the designer:

Nadine Mezher, the founder of nawá, was born in Beirut, Lebanon and her fashion sense began early in life as she developed a tremendous curiosity for the world of fabrics and catwalks. After obtaining her Bachelor in Business Administration and Marketing from the American University of Beirut, she traveled abroad to study design in both Florence and Paris where she ultimately began her career in the fashion world after graduating from Esmod Paris.

In 2006, and after several years of practical experience in Europe and the Middle East in renowned fashion houses which included Chanel and Elie Saab, she opened her own fashion house in downtown Beirut, where she designed and marketed her own haute couture, pret-a-porter, and accessories lines. Nadine has been an honorary member in various fashion events around the region, was selected as a permanent jury member along side Mr. Elie Saab in the reality TV show “mission Fashion”, and has taught fashion design at Esmod’s campus in Dubai.
nawá is Nadine’s latest adventure and is her way of showing how fashion can make a difference.
